Base Pads are essential for extending the overall length of the magazine by 1/2". * They aid in the proper seating of the magazine in a speed reload * They assist in giving the magazine a "grip" on the bottom in the event of the mag becoming stuck. * They aid in protecting the magazine when hitting the ground when dropped free.
