To help deliver its performance, Bushnell employs anti-reflection multi-coatings and protective exterior coatings on the lead-free glass lens with BAK4 glass on the compact roof prisms. The optical coatings work together to maximize light transmission through the light path, resulting in bright, sharp, and clear high-contrast views with accurate color fidelity and crisp resolution, even in challenging conditions such as at dawn and dusk or when viewing across vast wide open spaces. To further improve the observational experience, the Engage X is designed with a long eye relief and comfortable exit pupil that make looking through it for long periods comfortable with reduced eyestrain.
Bushnell built the Engage X to make it easy and comfortable to hold and allow it to withstand the harshest elements. Its chassis is designed to provide an ergonomic and balanced feel in the hand. The optical tubes are nitrogen filled and O-ring sealed to an IPX7 rating so they are waterproof and resistant to internal fogging if the weather turns or they take an accidental spill in a stream or puddle. Protecting the optical components is a rubber armor accented with textured palm pads that provide a sure and secure grip. For those who experience fatigue when holding large optics for long periods, or to simply eliminate vibrations, the Engage can be tripod mounted using an optional adapter for easy hands-free use.
