US vs FRENCH MRE | Tactical Rifleman

Military rations are AWESOME... if you are a 8 year old kid and your dad brings you home one. Every (most) nation with a decent military has some form of field ration to feed the troops when chowhalls aren't practical. When an army is on the move, you still have to feed it. Most military rations leave little to be desired. That said, the US military tries to "update" their rations, every so many years, to improve the taste. When you first get the "new & improved" MREs, they do indeed taste better than last month's slop. However, much of that is the "8 year old" novelty of getting to play with something new. After your first couple of hundred on the "new" meals, you are right back to hating even looking at the box. So, when my uncle James from Texas said he was gonna send me a French MRE to try out, I was like "wow, great, an MRE... shelf-stable "slop-in-a-box." Then it clicked... The French aren't famous for their military might; but they ARE famous for their good food. This might be fun. I put this French MRE up against the BEST (closest match) US MRE that I could find in the closet. It might just be the novelty of "something new", but I've got to admit that this French MRE was a treat. Watch the video.
