Better Than Steel | Safe Targets for ALL calibers | Tactical Rifleman

Well, because SAFETY is important to me. Earlier this year, I was invited to a "Social media range Day" out in Texas. They had everything from pistols, rifles, mini-guns, all the way up to 6.5mm Creedmores and other sniper rounds. The Problem was that they put ALL the STEEL targets at around 15 meters, which is WAY TOO CLOSE for ALL of the larger calibers. I ended up leaving after about an hour. Waste of my time and travel; but I just didn't want to be involved in that. There has to be a safer way to shoot larger calibers close up without requiring expensive frangible ammo? So, I hunted around... lots of polymer targets out there. Yep, but there was one that caught my eye. DA Targets make targets that temporarily change color when you shoot them. Depending on the ambient temperature, they are awesome. You just have to order one of 3 versions: Cool Weather 45-80F Mild Weather 60-80F Warm Weather 60-100F They also have an orange version that doesn't change color. Easily, my favorite are the knock-down plates, as you can quick (and cheaply) put up a 6-plate rack anywhere. Most of you wont care, because you shoot at public ranges. However, a lot of viewers either have their own ranges or need targetry for classes. Example: in the military, I would have LOVED to have dozens to these to take over on deployments for training.
