The 6.5 Creedmoor ~ A fabulous round, but beware of the misleading hype!

Nearly four years ago, I examined the three prominent 6.5 cartridges; the 6.5 Swede, .260 Remington, and the the relatively new 6.5 Creedmoor. I examine why the 6.5 Creedmoor is a superbly accurate and valued round that is here to stay, and for good reason. But, those who are in the market for a rifle should understand the facts, and be aware that the ballistic comparisons to other fine rounds are frequently skewed with much misleading data that leads to false and misunderstood conclusions. I explain and illustrate why the 6.5 Creedmoor--while indeed superb--is not better ballistically than its 6.5 peers and certainly not better, and perhaps not even equal, to the performance of other well-regarded rounds in larger calibers. Make your decision armed with facts, not hype!
