Accuracy is important. Being Fast and Accurate is even better. Being Fast & Accurate while Moving, is the final goal for all Direct Action Operators. This also applies for competition shooters, LE, and even Capable Citizens. While everyone focuses on speed & moving... at the end of the day, Accuracy is still the most important part of the combat shooting equation. So, at the end of every training session; we go back and focus on Accuracy. Many schools do 25 meter pistol bull's eye targets. I have a different spin. We do a drill called "Final-5" where you get 5 bullets to hit a plate at 20 meters. Those that hit the plate at least once, get to go back to 30 meters; then 40 meters, then 50 meters, and so on and so on. The end goal is for you to know your limit. Now, if you make it back to 80 meters. Great, just remember you are not stressed out in "fight or flight" like a real gunfight. So, understand your limit will change day to day and situation to situation. So if you are looking for new drills to add to your training regime; give Final-5 a shot.
