This made me wonder, is it LARP'ing when you're in the military but have only trained and haven't been in combat? Instead of calling it "School of Infantry" (SOI) perhaps the Marines should call it "School of LARPing" (SOL)? I know that many view things like Airsoft and Paintball as "LARPing" or even people who use real guns and train as being LARP'ers too. We have a chat about LARP'ing and when does it apply and even if it does apply, is it really a bad thing? Perhaps where Tim got this notion: https://www.wearethemighty.com/humor/why-peacetime-training-is-larping/ #military #larp #combat
