One good way to test your shooting skills is to introduce stress and motion into your training. The drills like we’re showing in this video help to bring the shooter out of the “sterile environment” and add an element of mental, as well as physical stress. This isn’t trying to simulate an accurate real situation as much as shift the shooter’s focus from the basic handling of the gun. The point isn’t to hurt the shooter by hitting them, but mainly disrupt the normal process of shooting static on the line. This is a perfectly safe drill when instructed by a professional. If you do decide to try adding this to your training make sure to be safe and do it dry until you’re comfortable with all of the safety considerations.
