1918 B.A.R. | Tactical Rifleman

Early last year we did a series of videos showing generations of combat uniforms for the US military from WW-I to present day. You can find them in our video archive. We want to build another series of video off of that series; dealing with the weapon systems of each era. We have already done the M-3 Grease Gun and the M-1 Garand with Rifle-Grenade Launcher. Let's do the BAR !!! Where to start? First, let's start with introducing Rick Lamb... CSM(Ret) Rick Lamb has been collecting military uniforms, weapons, and equipment his whole life. As a historian, he appreciates that history not only repeats its self; but you can see patterns of innovation. As he puts it: We always take a "Face Shot" at the start of a new conflict, because we are fighting with gear from our last war. Peacetime militaries often go back to being "spit-n-polish", with pretty soldiers better trained & equipped for parades than combat. After the initial "face shot," we see great innovation; necessity truly is the mother of invention. In this video, CSM Lamb shows us the iconic Browning Automatic Rifle or BAR. Yep, we love it; everyone remembers it from all the good WW-2 movies, like Saving Private Ryan. However, CSM Rick Lamb is gonna take us back to the very beginning... WW-I and the concept birthing even before that! This BAR was fun to play with; a little cold, but very educational.
