Taming the 12ga Wax Slug - is it possible?

Robert of Vette-Pilot Ballistics sent some fancy wax slugs that looked like a sound idea to stabilize and accuratize a wax slug. There is a point where the fuss and cost of turn a cheap idea into something as effective as a factory slug no longer makes sense though.
